Frequently Asked Questions

Having an FAQ post was a brilliant idea last year, so I've decided to re-post it! There are some questions that I get sent over and over again, and it might be better to have them all in one handy place!

Without further ado, here are a list of frequently asked questions, both about pickups, my policies, and other items!

Q: Do you have experience doing pickups?

A: Yes! I have thirteen years of experience doing Breyerfest pickups. I helped over eighty clients with their models last year, and picked up over 600 total models!

Q: Do you have lights on the transaction boards?

A: Absolutely! I have nothing but green lights on the boards, and can provide plenty of references from past clients, if you are looking for them.

Q: Is there a limit on how many models you will pick up for me?

A: Nope! I will pick up as many models as you feel comfortable purchasing. I have some clients that have me pick up 20+ models for them, and I have absolutely no issue taking on larger clients.

Q: Can you pick up VIP models for me?

A: Of course! I will pick up VIP models, All Access Models, Limited Editions, Event Stablemates, and so on. There are no event models that I won't pick up for you!

Q: Do I have to buy my own tickets for the event?

A: No, not if you don't want to. All of my flat rate pricing includes the cost of any tickets necessary to purchase your models. You don't need to purchase any extra tickets, unless you want access to the online content.

Q: Why do I need to pay for the ticket? Why can't you just get me the model at cost?

A: The tickets that I purchase are a necessary expense, and there is no way for me to provide models without considering this. In order to obtain SR models, I need to purchase All Access tickets, at a cost of nearly $100.00 per ticket. For each SR pickup, $50.00 has been added to the pickup cost to account for the ticket. This is, unfortunately, not negotiable. Please understand that the 'Cost' of the model has to include the cost of the ticket, because you cannot purchase the model without the ticket.

Q: When do I need to pay for my pickups?

A: A portion of the payment is due as a non-refundable down-payment at the time of finalizing your pickups. This cost is $50.00 per model, and those funds will be used to purchase the tickets necessary to purchase your models. The balance of payment will be due no later than the end of June, with shipping to be invoiced in the two days following Breyerfest.

Q: When will my models ship?

A: All models will ship on the Monday or Tuesday immediately following Breyerfest. Models can be shipped via USPS or UPS, at the buyer's preference. Models shipping to Canadian collectors will be shipped once I return home to Canada, so you won't need to worry about your models being shipped across the border.

Q: What is your policy on micro-runs?

A: For micro-runs, you will be sent the model that was given to me with your ticket. If your ticket draws a micro-run, you will receive that micro-run. The same thing generally applies to split runs as well. I will automatically send you the model that was picked up with your ticket. That being said, I fully understand that some people may have a preference for one colour or finish over another. If you would like to be able to select your colour/variation/finish, I will see what I can do to swap your model to one that you prefer. I will try to provide choice of colour for the Surprise Models, as well as matte/gloss splits, mane/tail splits, or colour splits. I cannot promise choice of finish for the Surprise models. If you do not wish to select your colour/variation, you will receive the model that was redeemed with your ticket.

Q: Do you pick up unopened models?

A: I know that this will be a very common question, especially this year. The easy answer would be to say no, but I feel like you deserve a better explanation than that. Just prior to Covid shutting BF down for a few years, I had an incredibly negative interaction with a client. I bent my 'No unopened models' policy, and I got burned pretty badly. They had ordered over $500.00 worth of models that year, and had a model arrive pretty severely damaged. Despite having their messages agreeing that I was not responsible for any models that arrived damaged (I couldn't check them), PP ended up siding with them and they received a refund for the full $500+, and got to keep the models. That has made me completely unwilling to bend that policy again. I know that there will be concerns about micro-runs, but I do want to assure clients that I will, and I DO ship micro runs to clients, if their ticket pulls one. I have references from 2019 and 2023 that I can provide, if they're desired.

Q: When is the last day for me to decide on pickups?

A: You have lots of time! As long as I can still purchase All Access tickets with the ability to access the preference list, I can add people to the pickup list. This means that you have until at least April to make those decisions.

Q: Can you pick up other models for me at Breyerfest?

A: This one is a bit of a loaded question. In some cases, yes. In some cases, no. If the model is a current regular run, will be available in the Breyer store at BF, and you just want a really nice copy? Absolutely, I can! What I cannot do is comb the CHIN for hours to look for a specific model. With everything I have going on at Breyerfest, I simply don't have time to offer that as a service. PLEASE NOTE: This includes Halloween and Christmas models. If they are available, I will see what I can do to pick them up for you. That being said, I cannot guarantee their availability.
